Will Forensics Authenticate Late Pollock?: The fight continues over the authentication of a tiny Jackson Pollock painting that he supposedly created in the last weeks of his life and gave as a gift to his lover Ruth Kligman. While an expert panel organized by Lee Krasner rejected the work, new forensic evidence has linked the painting to materials from Pollock’s home. Pollock connoisseur Francis V. O’Connor denies the work is authentic, while retired NYPD detective Nicholas D.K. Petraco insists that the evidence isn’t wrong. “I’ve had cases with less materials than this where people are spending 25 to 30 years in jail,” he said.
