EVERYONE CLAIMS THEY ARE BREAKING ART RECORDS

Online private sales platform ArtViatic.com has announced that it has broken the world for the private online sale of a work of art, selling a painting by Marc Chagall for $1,725,000 (excluding fees), or $1,830,000 (fees included).

Antoine Van de Beuque, the Founding President of ArtViatic states: “I am delighted by this particularly rapid success, which proves that, today, collectors are ready to buy exceptional works online. My thanks goes to our clients, who have demonstrated their confidence in us by offering some superb pieces.”

In its first year of operations, ArtViatic has realized an impressive transaction volume of €5.6 million, trading fine examples of works by artists including Max Ernst, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Serge Poliakoff and Victor Brauner.

The ArtViatic catalogue currently consists of around forty paintings, sculptures and works on paper, by Rodin, Renoir, Pissarro, Cézanne, Derain, Mondrian, Magritte, Picasso, Zao Wou-Ki, Richard Prince and Sean Scully among others – each estimated between €150,000 and several million euros.
